Parent Committee's Purpose
All parents and guardians of any child enrolled in the Head Start Program are a member of the Parent Committee. The Officers of the Parent Committee are the same as Parent Policy Council. The Parent Committee is structured to provide parents with opportunities to assist in the development of activities that address their interests and needs to support the healthy development of their children. In September, the Parent Committee will nominate and elect four parents/guardians officers of currently enrolled head Start children and two community members who will serve as voting representatives on the Parent Policy Council.
Parent Policy Council Purpose
The purpose of the parent policy council is to work in partnership with the Head Start Management, to establish and monitor long and short-term program goals/objectives, provide recommendations on policies and procedures for the ongoing operation and success of the program, and approve and recommend program priorities to the Tribal Council.
